Olof Andersson and his daughters...

A Musical Family, 1905

In winter 1905, Prince Eugen visited Zorn in Mora.
One day, they paid a call to the folk musician Kings Olof
Andersson. The artist has described the scene: 'Violins and
guitars were lifted from the wall, and father and four daughters
did their best... Illuminated by the lively flames in the fireplace,
the prince sat in the grandfather chair in his Russian fur coat,
regal in every way, listening to Margit's pure voice
accompanied by her guitar and 3 violins. The
prince said I should paint them, and I did,
but without him in the picture'
